Vacation for a year. Holidays in quarters. Why are vacation times changing for schoolchildren?

It is no secret that the formation of a child should take place gradually, with a minimum amount of negative stress. To reduce the pressure of responsibility on schoolchildren and help them recover for further studies, standards were established that determine how much time a child should study and how much rest. On the eve of the new school year, our article will tell you about when they begin and end. school holidays 2017–2018 academic year in Russia.

    Who sets school holiday dates?

Based on research conducted by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, recommendations were formed that allow the average Russian schoolchild to fully learn and develop in the educational process. Based on these recommendations, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation annually creates recommended dates for school holidays for the entire academic year. The vacation schedule proposed by officials is recommended, but not final, because the final authority in determining the actual timing of school classes is the educational institution itself. This is done in order to exclude all kinds of force majeure situations.

The academic year throughout Russia is approximately the same. It starts on September 1 and lasts until the last Friday in May. However, our country is huge and it is simply unrealistic to create a curriculum that would be universal for all regions. Based on this logic, it was decided to leave the right to set vacation dates to the management of each educational institution individually. However, parents should be aware that their opinions may be taken into account when developing the curriculum for 2017-2018. The Parents' Committee may propose its own version of the timing of the school year and holidays, which school management is obliged to take into account by law. But the final decision is still made by the management of the educational institution.

School holiday schedule and dates 2017–2018

The final dates of the holidays in each educational institution in Russia will be known only by the beginning of the 2017-2018 academic year, but preliminary information already allows us to guess on which days the school holidays of the next academic year are most likely to take place. In addition, when organizing school holidays, you should take into account the form of education in each educational institution separately. There are two such forms: by quarters and trimesters.

Important! All dates and vacation schedules indicated below are approximate, which means that specifically in your school, gymnasium or lyceum, vacation dates may differ from those given below.

Autumn holidays: training in quarters: from October 30 to November 6; training by trimester: from October 2 to 8 and from November 13 to 19.

Winter holidays (New Year's): in this case, the form of education plays practically no role, because children's winter holidays are formed so that they coincide with the rest period for adults in honor of New Year's (preliminarily from December 28 to January 10).

Spring break: training in quarters: from March 22–24 to April 1; training by trimester: most likely from April 9 to April 16.

Summer holidays: both forms of education imply the same end dates for the academic year: from May 25-28 to August 31.

    Holidays for first graders

Children entering school in first grade are most vulnerable to stressful situations that may arise in an unfamiliar school environment. For this reason, additional holidays are held for first-graders, which most often fall at the end of February (in 2018 from February 19 to 26).

It is during this period that children often feel more tired and get sick more often. To avoid such phenomena, school management has the right to organize additional rest for first-graders, which, however, can also be canceled or have different start and end dates - it all depends on the decision of the school management.

The educational process of schoolchildren must be balanced. Vacations are no less important than school days. In most Russian schools there are 4 types of holidays: summer, autumn, winter, spring. When are the autumn holidays at school in 2018 2019. When is winter break at school in 2018 2019. When is spring break at school in 2018 2019. When are summer holidays at school in 2018 2019.

    Holiday calendar 2018-2019

Each school can set its own vacation schedule, adhering to the recommendations developed in legislative acts. Summer holidays must be no shorter than 8 weeks. And school holidays during the academic year should not be less than 30 calendar days. Vacations must begin on Monday and cannot be shifted by more than 2 weeks.

The 2018-2019 academic year begins on September 1. The educational process will last 34 weeks, excluding final certification, and the holidays will last 18 weeks.

In addition, schoolchildren will have a rest on public holidays.

    School holidays in quarters. Moscow

    • Winter – from December 30, 2018 to January 8, 2019.
    • Additional holidays for first-graders – from February 16 to February 24, 2019.

School holidays in quarters. Saint Petersburg

    • Autumn holidays - from October 27 to November 5, 2018.
    • Winter – from December 29, 2018 to January 12, 2019.
    • Spring break – from March 23 to March 31, 2019.
    • Additional holidays for first-graders – from February 4 to February 10, 2019.

Each school can choose its own vacation schedule, but it is necessary to meet the established deadlines.

Russia is a huge country. It happens that due to unforeseen circumstances (natural disasters, quarantine) children cannot go to school. If this continues for 3-4 days, then the students are able to catch up with the program. But in cases where students do not attend school for more than a week, the vacation schedule may be changed. Or some days off can be used as school days.

    How to organize a vacation

Before leaving for the holidays, all children must listen to instructions on how to behave correctly during the holidays. Class teachers must explain to students what they can do and what they cannot do.

A separate topic should be devoted to traffic rules, since a large number of road accidents involving children occur during the holidays.

If students go on summer vacation, parents must inform where and with whom their children will be. Before the summer holidays, parents must also listen to the instructions and sign for it.

What to do with your child during the holidays

How fast children grow. Just recently, a baby was snoring comfortably in his crib. He constantly needed love and care: feed him, change him, calm him down. Now he is already a schoolboy, an individual, a person capable of coming home from school, changing into home clothes, having something to eat, and even, if he’s in the mood, washing up after himself and sitting down to his homework. But it’s too early for parents to relax. He is still a child and needs the supervision and attention of his parents. Especially during the holidays, when he has a lot of free time. What you can do with your child during the holidays largely depends on the time of year it falls.

    Autumn vacation

The first holidays from the beginning of the school year are the autumn holidays. Autumn is a very beautiful time of year. So that your child can appreciate all its charm, take him to the forest or park. There you can show your child what trees, shrubs and herbs grow in our area. Explain why the leaves fall in the fall and make a beautiful bouquet out of them. And at the same time, collect beautiful twigs, berries, pine cones and make fun crafts out of them, ideas for which you can spy on the Internet or come up with something to suit your taste. Such products can be an excellent gift for grandparents or home decoration. They will help preserve the memory of a wonderful autumn day. The autumn holidays are followed by winter holidays.

    The winter vacation

In winter, it's time to take out the sleds, skis or skates from the mezzanine. If you don’t have money for a ski resort or indoor skating rink, it doesn’t matter. You can have a great time with a sled on the nearest slide or yard skating rink, if there is one. And after riding to your heart’s content, build a snowman, play in the snow, or just roll around in the snow.

    Spring break

You can also spend spring break outdoors. Put on rubber boots and become brave captains of paper boats that you can launch in the surrounding streams and puddles. Or go to the park to admire nature coming to life after winter. If you collect a bouquet of twigs with buds and, when you come home, put them in water, then tiny leaves will soon appear on them. Not only children, but also adults will be happy to watch their gradual appearance.

    Summer holidays

Summer holidays are the longest and most suitable for outdoor recreation. Parents have the opportunity to come up with something new at least every day. Biking, rollerblading or walking. Hiking and kayaking on the river or relaxing on the beach. Football, beach volleyball or picnics with the whole family. Picking berries and mushrooms or reading a book on a park bench. It all depends on temperament, physical capabilities, or simply the mood of the parents and child.

If the weather leaves much to be desired.

Outdoor recreation is very useful for all family members, but if suddenly the weather is completely inclement: be it unbearable heat in the summer, drizzling autumn rain or severe winter cold, you can always go to the theater, museum, library, water park or sit in a cozy cafe.

    At home with baby

Unfortunately, sometimes it happens that plans are made, but the weather or the health of one of the family members fails. Then numerous board games, funny charades, crafts, reading aloud or family films can come to the rescue. The main thing is not to be lazy and not be afraid to come up with something new. After all, the ease and mood with which your treasure will go through the subsequent educational period depends on how beneficially the holidays were spent for the soul and body.

When should children have a rest in 2018? Children's holidays 2018 are the time that all participants in the educational process are looking forward to: schoolchildren, parents, teachers. The work and rest schedule is created in such a way that once a season children can take a break from their busy schedule. It was built in such a way that there is a week of vacation in the fall and spring, two in the winter, and three whole months in the summer. This does not include weekends due to public holidays. Everyone wants to know the holiday calendar in advance. Thus, you can plan an interesting trip, buy a trip to warmer climes, or see relatives. You should not burden schoolchildren with homework. At this time they must change their activities completely. This will be better for your health and improve your learning ability.

    Holiday calendar 2018

The Ministry of Education develops the holiday calendar. Then he sends a letter with recommendations throughout Russia. But the final dates and lines of vacation are set by the school director. The exact dates for 2018 are not yet known. Only preliminary data is available.

Schools in Russia have the following division of the academic year:

    • trimester;
    • quarter;
    • module.

Accordingly, vacation dates will vary slightly.

In total, excluding summer, children will have 35 days of rest out of 9 months. But it’s worth remembering that there are five-day and six-day schools. So the 2018 holidays for schoolchildren vary depending on the division of the school year.

    School holidays in 2018

The 2018 holidays for schoolchildren will begin at the end of 2017. For students, the New Year will begin with holidays. Then they will have a week's rest in the spring, three months in the summer, and a week in the fall.

First-graders and schools with modules will have a little more time to relax.

    Autumn holidays 2018

It is too early to talk about the exact date. Official data on this matter will be known no earlier than the spring of 2018. But, if we compare with previous years, we can assume that the autumn holidays in 2018 for children with a quarterly education system will be from 10/27 to 11/4. The fall 2018 holidays for schoolchildren with a modular system will begin on November 4 and end on the 11th of the same month.

    Winter holidays 2018

The 2018 winter holidays for schoolchildren will begin in 2017, namely on December 25. Ends January 8-10.

Good news for first-graders and students of schools with modules: they will have an additional week of holidays on February 19-26.

Why do first-graders have more vacations in winter?

The Ministry of Education cares about the health of children. That is why the decision was made to provide an additional week of rest for the little ones. Adaptation takes place throughout the academic year. Moreover, in winter children get sick more often. And, in order not to quarantine, it is better to play it safe in advance.

    Unscheduled holidays

These are the days when children do not go to school due to unforeseen circumstances. By law it is:

    • outside temperature -25°C and below;
    • temperature in the classroom +18°C and below;
    • high incidence (so-called quarantine).

The duration of unscheduled holidays is determined by each school individually.

    Spring break 2018

In schools, quarters will begin on March 26-27 and end on April 2-3. In those with a trimester, holidays are April 9-16. In modular ones - April 7-15.

At the moment, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has prepared a project that proposes to move the 2018 school holidays for January 6 and 7 to March 9 and May 2. No, this does not mean that you have to go to school on Christmas. It's just that these numbers fall on Saturday and Sunday. Even if there were no holidays, no one would study these days. But according to the law of work and rest, 2 days of vacation cannot be taken away from children. So it is proposed to postpone them to the spring. Also in this bill there is a proposal to make several working Saturdays (04/28/2018, 06/09/2018, 12/29/208). But in return, make Mondays 04/30/2018, 06/11/2018 and 12/31/2018 as days off.

The above dates are only preliminary data. There are no recommendations from the Ministry of Education for the 2017-2018 academic year yet. The final school holidays in 2018 are set individually by each educational institution. In this case, the wishes of the parents are taken into account.

Additional holidays in the 2017-2018 academic year

Additional holidays or postponement of holidays in schools and other educational institutions are possible for the following reasons:

    • Low air temperature– minus 25 degrees Celsius for primary school; minus 28 degrees – for high school; minus 30 degrees for students in grades 10 and 11.
    • Low temperature in classrooms. When the air temperature in classrooms is below +18 degrees, it is prohibited to conduct classes.
    • Quarantine and exceeding the morbidity threshold. Quarantine can be declared in a separate school, a separate district, city or region if the epidemic incidence threshold of 25% of the total number of students is exceeded.

In addition to traditional Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, the following dates for public holidays are established in the 2017-2018 academic year:

Vacations for students in the 2017-2018 academic year

There will be fewer vacations at institutes, universities and other higher educational institutions during the 2017-2018 academic year, since students rest only in winter and summer. Each university sets the exact vacation schedule for students depending on the session dates. Winter holidays for students begin at the end of January and end in mid-February. During the summer period, the dates of student holidays also depend on the session and practice, which is often scheduled for June, which means you can go on vacation only in July. Also, the practice may be postponed to August, and the holidays will begin in mid-June. Everything depends on the specific university, therefore, in order to carefully plan your vacation, you need to clarify the data with the university administration. The only thing that can be said for sure is that the holidays should not be less than 6 weeks.

The vacation schedule varies slightly from year to year, “sliding” according to the calendar. And this causes inconvenience for parents who prefer to plan their lives in advance - after all, in order to think through a travel route or other family vacation options, you need to know in advance the school holiday schedule for the 2017-2018 school year. When will children be free from school?

According to a long-standing tradition, autumn holidays in schools are held in the first week of November. In Soviet times, they were “combined” with the celebration of the anniversary of the October Revolution, but now they coincide with National Unity Day, celebrated on November 4. In 2017, the holiday will be a Saturday, and due to the postponement of the day off to Monday, November 6, adults will have a three-day mini-vacation. For schoolchildren, these days, naturally, will also be “time off” - an additional day of rest will be “added” to the usual weekly duration of the November holidays.

Autumn holidays at school in November 2017: from what date
